Virtual Girls’ Adventures in Math (GAIM) Competition

Congratulations to Lower and Middle School students Anandita M.Avianna C.Bo B.Diya K., Noa M., and Shalini N.! These young learners participated in this year’s Girls’ Adventures in Math (GAIM), a team-based Math competition for girls in "grades 3–8."

This is Khan Lab School’s third year participating in GAIM but the first competing virtually, and our students showed impressive teamwork and strategy. Together, over the course of two hours, they solved some of the most challenging and innovative Math problems for students in this age group.

Anandita M. and Bo B., as a team of two competing against other teams of up to four, won third place nationally in the middle school division (Innovator award, score: 140-159). Watch our students earn their award at the GAIM 2021 Awards Ceremony recording on YouTube.

Each problem contained the stories of pioneering women from history, like Miriam Makeba of South Africa, Fe Del Mundo of the Philippines, Hedwig Kohn of Germany, and Lina Bo Bardi of Brazil.

Way to go, Badgers!
